Anne Akiko Meyers

American violinist Anne Akiko Meyers was born in California on 15 May 1970. She grew up in Southern California, studying with Shirley Helmick, Alice and Eleonore Schoenfeld in Los Angeles, and then with Josef Gingold at Indiana University and with Dorothy DeLay, Felix Galimir and Masao Kawasaki at Juilliard.

She began touring and making recordings from the age of sixteen. She has appeared as soloist with many high profile orchestras, and many works have been written especially for her.
