Britta Byström (born 1977):
1 Letter in April (2011) for clarinet, violin, cello and piano
2 Baum in der Stadt (2014) for violin solo
Images From the Floating World (2019) for string quartet
3 Con moto
8 Con moto
9 Figures at the Seaside (2020) for cello and chamber orchestra
Britta Byström's music tells stories and builds structures, all from the clearest and most evocative of ingredients. Her ear for colour and her willingness to be led by instinct are both apparent on the four works included on this album, documenting Athelas Sinfonietta's enthusiasm for the Swedish composer.
Recorded 16-18 October 2021, 31 March and 28 June 2022 at KoncertKirken, Copenhagen, Denmark.
