Thea Musgrave

Thea Musgrave, the Scottish composer, was born in Edinburgh on 27 May 1928. She studied with Nadia Boulanger and Aaron Copland. She has spent much of her life residing in America, where she wrote the opera Mary, Queen of Scots in 1976 to much critical applause. An earlier Clarinet Concerto enables the soloist to move around the orchestra playing with different groups of instruments.
