Israeli harpsichordist Marina Minkin was born in Ukraine on 25 October 1959. She moved to Israel in 1981. She studied piano and harpsichord performance at Boston University and at the Jerusalem Academy of Music, and studied the life and work of Italian composer Anna Bon for her Doctor of Musical Arts dissertation.
Minkin founded and directs the Ad Libitum Ensemble, featuring period instrument musicians from Israel and the USA, and she has appeared at chamber music festivals in Canada, Israel and the USA. Since 2009 she has been artistic director of Israel's Yehiam Renaissance Festival.
Her CDs include Harpsichord Music by Israeli Composers on Albany Records, and Bach, Bach & Bach on Artona. She has also appeared many times on the WGBH Boston and Kol Israel radio stations.
Marina Minkin teaches harpsichord and Baroque music courses at the Tel-Aviv University Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, at the Israeli Conservatory in Tel-Aviv and at Jezreel Valley Art Center.
