Russian pianist Viktor Ivanovich Lyadov was born in Engels on 18 February 1966. He studied at the Moscow State Conservatory and won prizes in five major piano competitions, two of them - the Robert Schumann Competition in Zwickau and the Paloma O'Shea Competition in Santander - while still a student.
He performed extensively in Russia and abroad, recorded for at least five different labels, ran seminars and served as a competition jury member.
Viktor Lyadov died on 8 September 2024, aged fifty-eight.
