Orfeo International

Orfeo International Music GmbH is a German classical music label based in Munich and, since 2015, owned by Naxos.  It was registered as Orfeo Classic Records and Music Film GmbH on 12 December 1979 and launched in 1980 by F Axel Mehrle. The label created all digital masters, and was very profitable during the first half of the 1980s, but then went through a rather murky period during which its founder was charged with fraud and embezzlement relating to the company's bankruptcy.
