Prizewinning Australian clarinettist Paul Dean was born in Brisbane in 1966 and studied at the Queensland Conservatorium. He is Artistic Director of the Australian National Academy of Music, taking over from his brother, the composer, viola player and conductor Brett Dean.
Paul Dean is also a member (and Artistic Director Laureate) of the Brisbane-based Southern Cross Soloists.
