Norwegian composer, organist, choral conductor and teacher Leif Solberg was born on 18 November 1914 in Lena. He studied at the Norwegian Academy of Music in Oslo, and then worked for his entire life as organist in Lillehammer from 1938 until 1982.
His compositions, all written before he was forty, include a symphony, and choral and organ music.
At the time of his death at his home in Lillehammer on 25 January 2016, aged one-hundred-and-one, he was Scandinavia's oldest composer.
