Russian composer and teacher Roman Semenovich Ledenev was born on 4 December 1930 in Moscow, where he studied at the Central Music School and then at the Conservatory.
His output as a composer included theatre, orchestral, instrumental, vocal and film music.
He taught composition at Moscow State University and at the Central Music School.
Roman Ledenev died on 15 August 2019.
