Dutch organ builder, restorer and organist Cornelius H Edskes was born at Groningen in 1925, where he was organist of the Doopsgezinde Gemeente for much of his life.
Working with organ builder Doornbos in Groningen helped him to become an authority on the history of organ building in northern Europe. He restored many organs in Germany and Holland, and acted as consultant on many restoration projects.
He was interviewed in the Martinikerk Rondeau documentary, released in 2009, talking about the history of organs in the Groningen area.
