Historically, classical music written by coloured people has been overlooked, but there is currently great interest in music by composers such as Eleanor Alberga, Joseph Boulogne, Unsuk Chin, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, William Dawson, Adophus Hailstork, Scott Joplin, Florence Price, Keiko Takano, George Walker and Errollyn Wallen.
