Anna Clyne

English composer Anna Clyne was born in London on 9 March 1980. She completed her first composition at the age of seven, and had her first work performed ib public when she was eleven. She studied at Edinburgh University and at the Manhattan School of Music, and lives in New York.

Clyne has written brass, chamber, choral, instrumental, orchestral and vocal music. She has also written electro-acoustic music, has taken part in cross-genre collaborations, and is fascinated by the visual arts.

She has undertaken a series of residencies with different orchestras, including, in 2022-23, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Trondheim Symphony Orchestra. She has been commissioned by Inbal Segev and by BBC Radio 3.
