Opera Barga is an annual opera festival held in July in the Italian town of Barga in Tuscany. It was founded in 1967 by Peter Gellhorn and Lorenzo Malfatti, and performances take place in the late eighteenth century Teatro dei Differenti, seating 289.
The festival's main aim is to perform works from the Baroque era (with Vivaldi's operas playing an important part) and modern operas. More than forty operas have been staged. (The theatre was closed for renovation between 1982 and 1998.)
The performers are the young musicians taking part in the festival's summer school.
