The Dutch composer Henk Badings was born 17 January 1907 in Java. He forsook engineering early on for music, and turned increasingly to experimentation with electronics. His worklist is long, including 14 symphonies and 25 concertos for various instruments. He died on 26 June 1987 at Maarheeze.
