Passamezzo
The name of a popular sixteenth century chord progression or ground bass, which comes in two variants - the passamezzo antico and its major mode variation, the passamezzo moderno.
Also a performance group based in the UK, founded in 2001, initially to explore the Jacobean Masque, and specialising in English Elizabethan and Jacobean repertoire.
