A musical testament to how deep bonds can form in the face of adversity, Puccini's most beloved opera tells of love and loss in the freezing poverty of nineteenth-century Paris. Following their recording of Gerald Barry's Alice's Adventures Under Ground, released in 2021, La bohème is Irish National Opera's second recording in their new partnership with Signum Classics. Presented with a cast featuring Irish talent including Celine Byrne, Anna Devin, Ben McAteer, John Molloy and more, this disc of Puccini's lavish score cements Irish National Opera's reputation as a company that records canonical operas to the highest standards.
Recorded in February 2021 at Bord Gáis Energy Theatre, Dublin, Ireland.
