Review of J S Bach; Buxtehude - Iestyn Davies published on 19 February 2022
Recorded 7-9 October 2020 at St Jude-on-the-Hill, Hampstead Garden Suburb, London, UK.
Both of these cantatas may have been written for an outstandingly gifted boy alto in Bach's Leipzig, but—listening to these peerless accounts - it's impossible to believe he could have approached Iestyn Davies' flawless technique and profound interpretative insight.
