Czech-German soprano, mezzo-soprano and teacher Romana Vaccaro was born Romana Kahlerová on 20 February 1956 in Prague, and studied there at the conservatory. She won the Czech national singing competition twice. She moved to Germany in 1980 and studied privately with Eike Wilm Schulte, Lisa Hagenau and George-Emil Crasnaru.
Her engagements included performances in Bulgaria, Croatia, Czechia, Germany, Italy, Romania and Ukraine.
She founded and directed the International Opera Academy Bad Schwalbach.
Following a short, serious illness, Romana Vaccaro died on 23 January 2024, aged sixty-seven.
