Czech composer, flautist, musicologist and teacher Zdeněk Šesták was born in Cítoliby on 10 December 1925. He studied composition at the Prague Conservatory and musicology at the Philosophy Faculty at Univerzita Karlova.
Since 1957 he has worked as a freelance composer, and has also lectured at Univerzita Karlova. He has written symphonic, choral, vocal and chamber music.
