British pianist Keith Swallow was born in 1930 or 1931 and grew up in New Mill near Holmfirth. He studied at Manchester School of Music and at the Royal College of Music in London.
During his long career he accompanied Sheila Armstrong, Owen Brannigan, Janet Hilton, Alfreda Hodgson, Kiri te Kanawa, Leontyne Price, the BBC Northern Singers and was principal accompanist of the Colne Valley Male Voice Choir for sixty-three years.
He also taught piano and lectured at Bretton Hall College and at Huddersfield University.
Following a short illness, Keith Swallow died on 20 August 2023, aged ninety-two.
