25 YEARS: Classical Music Daily celebrates twenty-five years of daily publication with an hour-long video featuring some of our regular contributors.
Czech composer and pianist Hans Seeling, also known as Jan Seeling, was born on 14 February 1828 in Prague, where he also studied.
He toured Europe as a pianist and died in Prague on 25 or 26 May 1862, aged only thirty-four.
His limited output as a composer consists of mostly piano music in a Germanic style, and he must have had large hands, as much of his music requires a large stretch.
