German actor and singer Wolfgang Ostberg was born in Berlin on 4 August 1939. Known for his appearances in the East German TV films Steckbrieflich gesucht (1982), An allem ist Matuschke schuld (1988) and Das tägliche Brot (1963), he also worked in operetta, at the Metropol Theater in East Berlin. He married actress Maria Alexander, and was the father of actor Marcus Ostberg.
Ostberg died in Schleswig-Holstein on 13 May 2011, aged seventy-one.
