Russian soprano Tamara Milashkina was born in Astrakhan on 13 September 1934 and studied with Elena Katulskaya.
She sang with the Bolshoi Opera from 1958 until 1989, touring extensively with the company, including to New York Metropolitan Opera. She also appeared at La Scala and throughout Europe. She recorded for Melodiya.
Tamara Milashkina died on 10 January 2024, aged eighty-nine.
