Khayyam Mirzazade

Azerbaijani composer and teacher Khayyam Mirzazade was born in Baku on 5 October 1935, and studied at Azerbaijan State Conservatoire, where he later taught, from 1957 onwards. He wrote symphonic and chamber music, songs, incidental music for plays and film music.

He received the Shohrat Order from the President of Azerbaijan in October 2000.

Khayyam Mirzazade died on 30 July 2018, aged eighty-two.
