Roland Dyens

French guitarist, composer and arranger Roland Dyens was born in Tunis on 19 October 1955. He studied guitar with Alberto Ponce and Désiré Dondeyne, and won several prizes for his guitar playing and composition. He was known for his ability at improvising, and often began concerts with an improvised piece.

He was professor of guitar at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris.

Roland Dyens died on 29 October 2016, aged sixty-one.
