Nikolai Demidenko was born in Anisimovo, Russia on 1 July 1955. He studied piano with Anna Kantor (at Gnessin State Musical College) and Dmitri Bashkirov (at the Moscow Conservatoire).
Resident in the United Kingdom since 1990, he has recorded more than twenty albums for Hyperion Records and teaches at Surrey University.
