Iranian-Danish composer Amir Mahyar Tafreshipour was born in 1974. He studied at Trinity College of Music in London, UK.
His Harp Concerto (2005) was commisioned by the BBC and broadcast on BBC Radio 3.
His first opera, The Doll behind the Curtain, based on a short story by Iranian writer Sadeq Hedayat, was first performed at King's Place in London in 2015.
Tafreshipour's music has been included on various CDs, including a CD of his music, Persian Echoes, which is available on the Naxos label.
