Weston Noble

American music teacher and conductor Weston Noble was born on 30 November 1922 near Riceville, Iowa. He sang, and played clarinet, piano and organ.

He was best known as conductor of the Nordic Choir at Luther College from 1948 until 2005, and of the Luther College Concert Band from 1948 until 1973. He was also guest director at many hundreds of music festivals on four continents.

On retiring from Luther College, he was artist-in-residence at Carthage College, Kenosha, Wisconsin, visiting professor at Wartburg College, Waverly, Iowa, where he was also interim conductor of the Wartburg Choir, and guest conductor of the Augustana College Choir, Sioux Falls, South Dakota.

He died on 21 December 2016, aged ninety-four, following a fall.
