British pianist, artist and poet Yaltah Menuhin was born in San Francisco on 7 October 1921. Sister of violinist Yehudi Menuhin, Yaltah studied with Marcel Ciampi in Paris, Rudolf Serkin in Basel, Armando Silvestri in Rome and Carl Friedberg in New York.
She gave regular concerts, including a programme of Chopin and Debussy in England, just a few days before her death on 9 June 2001 at her home in London, aged seventy-nine.
