Theodor Leschetizky, the Polish composer, pianist and teacher was born 22 June 1830 near Lemberg. He settled in Vienna, where pupils such as Moiseiwitsch, Schnabel, Paderewski and Gabrilowitch came from far and wide to experience the so-called Leschetizky Method. He died in Dresden on 14 November 1915.
