Aase Nordmo Løvberg

 Norwegian operatic soprano Aase Nordmo Løvberg was born at Målselv, Troms on 10 June 1923. She made her professional debut in Oslo in 1948. She lived mostly in Stockholm during the early part of her career, singing regularly with Jussi Björling at the Royal Opera, apart from sojourns at Vienna State Opera and New York Metropolitan Opera.

One of post-World War II Norway's greatest voices, she worked with Karajan and Solti, became head of Norwegian Opera and was a professor at the Norwegian Academy of Music.

Løvberg died at the age of eighty-nine on 25 January 2013 in Lillehammer, Oppland, where she had spent her final years.
