French pianist, composer and teacher Bruno Ducol was born in Annonay on 22 March 1949. He studied at the Conservatoire National de Région de Lyon and then at the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique de Paris, where his teachers included Olivier Messiaen and Pierre Schaeffer.

His output included solo and chamber music, orchestral, choral, vocal and electroacoustic music. His son, Clément Ducol, is also a composer.
