Mark Berry is Lecturer in Music at Royal Holloway, London University. An intellectual and musical historian, his research and teaching interests extend from the late seventeenth century to the present day. He is the author of Treacherous Bonds and Laughing Fire: Politics and Religion in Wagner's 'Ring' (Ashgate, 2006).
