John Luther Adams

American composer John Luther Adams was born in Meridian, Mississippi on 23 January 1953. After graduating from California Institute of the Arts, he worked in environmental protection, travelling to and then moving to Alaska, which became a great inspiration for his music. He won the 2014 Pulitzer Prize for Music for his orchestral work Become Ocean.
