Francis Poulenc (1899-1963):
1-4 Sinfonietta, FP 141 (1947-48)
5-6 Two movements from ‘Les Mariées de la Tour Eiffel’, FP 23
(1921, revised 1957)
7 Pastourelle, FP 45 (1927)
8-15 Les Animaux modèeles, FP 111 (1940-42)
Bramwell Tovey and the BBC Concert Orchestra revel in the charm, wit, and humour of some of Poulenc's finest orchestral pieces. Sadly, this proved to be Bramwell Tovey's final recording, and the album is dedicated to his memory.
Recorded 10-12 March 2022 at Watford Colosseum, Watford, UK.
