Gladys de Moctezuma

Salvadoran soprano, teacher and cultural manager Gladys Gándara de Moctezuma was born in San Salvador on 6 August 1927. She studied at Columbia University and at Juilliard.

She was one of the country's leading coloratura sopranos and she founded Opera El Salvador.

Gladys de Moctezuma died on 20 July 2024, aged ninety-six.
