Hungarian minimalist composer and violinist László Melis was born in Budapest on 14 August 1953.
He was a member of the Hungarian new music group Group 180 (1978-1990), which performed and recorded five of his works.
He wrote extensively for film (including animations) and theatre, and his music has been recorded on Hungaroton and BMC.
Melis died in Budapest on 12 February 2018, aged sixty-four.
