French organist, harpsichordist and composer Pierre-Claude Foucquet was born into a family of musicians in Paris in 1694.
He became organist at Saint Honoré in Paris when he was only eighteen. This led to several other top Paris organist jobs, culminating at Notre-Dame Cathedral (1761-1772).
His output as a composer includes three books of harpsichord pieces.
His career as an organist ended due to ill health, and he died on 13 February 1772.
