Prolific English composer, broadcaster and Greenland cultural explorer Adrian Vernon Fish was born in Bristol on 20 January 1956. He studied at the Royal College of Music in London with Alan Ridout and Herbert Howells, and developed a fascination for Greenland in the 1970s. He has made eleven concert tours to the country, and in December 1997 he gave the first classical recital in the Katuaq Cultural Centre.
For many years, Fish lived near Ballycroy, County Mayo, Ireland, and presented a weekly programme, Fish on Friday, on his local radio station, Erris FM.
He has composed much music in a variety of styles, including many pieces inspired by Greenland.
