'Notebook for Anna Magdalena Bach' refers to either the 1722 or 1725 manuscript notebook that Johann Sebastian Bach presented to his second wife, Anna Magdalena Bach. They consist mostly of keyboard music, but also contain a few songs and arias, and give an indication of the Bach family's musical tastes and of eighteenth century domestic music.
The 1722 notebooks contains only music by J S Bach, whereas the 1725 book (often called the 'Anna Magdalena notebook') is a compilation, also including music by other composers contemporary to J S Bach.
